Successful leadership is one of the most important factors that help a company thrive in today’s intensely competitive market. A great leader has many attributes such as hard work, skills, etc. However, besides the typical leadership qualities, some factors like passion and perseverance also play an important role in making a leader successful.
One of the prominent leaders in the interior designing industry, Dominika J. Rostocka agrees with this by saying, “Each success is preceded by hard work. However, there are more components to success such as happiness, persistence, capabilities, and one’s love for work. Since I love what I do, my business is built on passion.”
Rostocka is the CEO of several companies closely collaborating in the field of interior architecture. She has been working in the design and architecture industry for over 20 years and has completed over 500 projects of buildings and interiors in Poland and abroad. Besides architectural and interiors concepts, Dominika J. Rostocka is also well-versed in widely perceived visual elaborations, including industrial design.
Rostocka began her career in interior designing 25 years ago when she started receiving orders from the Italian market. She discovered the great potential in interior designing and furnishing and started building a network of acquaintances and business connections in the field of production of interior furnishings. With time, she acquired a new group of clients, for example, developers, investment companies, and private investors.
Dominika J. Rostocka started developing an interest in designing architecture and interiors became her passion, which was the primary aim behind expanding the services to a wide range. The company’s services gradually developed to render executive services to an extent that it created the executive, coordination, and design departments. “Today, we may be distinguished not just by the quality of rendered services, but also by their extent,” adds Rostocka.
The prominent service offered by the company is to render designing services worldwide, creating architectural and visual concepts, industrial design, as well as supporting project documentation and technical specification preparatory work. The public utility author’s programme, based on hotels’ and shopping centers’ concepts of behavioral and style evaluation is the company’s primary asset. Moreover, it is currently implementing the Psychology of interiors and architecture in every project to deliver the best results to the clients.
A team of experienced experts is constantly supporting the company with their expertise, which has a positive result on the company’s services. Alongside spearheading the team and actively serving as an architect, Rostocka designs public buildings, offices, sports facilities, apartment buildings, and residences, including interiors. She approaches each of her clients individually, researching their needs and trying to identify the most effective solutions.
To ensure that the themes she is working on are perfectly executed, Rostocka also designs interior elements such as furniture, textiles, wallpapers, lighting, and decorative accessories. She mentions that the success she has achieved in the field of designing furnishing elements has resulted in creating a separate sector in her activity, namely the industrial design sector—covering design packaging patterns, labels, company trademarks, and creating the overall image of the undertakings she is involved in.
‘One may say that indeed our clients perceive our best asset—the combination of projects with their execution and production of furnishing,” says Rostocka The company provides its clients with a wide range of complementary services which makes the customers feel fully served. Its flagship product/service is the creation of visual concepts. A broad way of looking at architecture from the outside, combined with high sensitivity in interior designing, makes Dominika J. Rostocka a multidisciplinary designer.
The ability to take such a wide angle insight means that Rostocka is able to design virtually anything—starting from an urban district, right up to a label designed for a new series of whiskey brands. Based on her concepts, Dominika J. Rostocka has initiated several successful assumptions in other companies she is cooperating with. She gladly shares her knowledge while developing new contacts, thus extending her range of cooperation and helping her companies in their dynamic development. With an aim to educate others and share her experience, Rostocka has also founded a school for designers.
The projects, completed buildings, and interiors created by Rostocka’s design workshops have been many times merited by international juries. She has been bestowed with the following awards and recognitions.
Alongside these awards, Rostocka mentions that a satisfied customer is her greatest reward and joy. “I am happy to visit the products I completed many years ago. Time goes by but my designs still look good, as I did my best to make them timeless. Seeing satisfied customers gives me a sense of a job well done,” she adds.
Dominika J. Rostocka also considers exceeding the limits of her capabilities a reward. She feels happy to be successful in domains that she did not have courage to be active in previously. She is glad with her ability to open herself to new markets and cultures and feels honored to explore new cultures and work in new environments.
The pandemic accelerated the shift towards digital operations. Rostocka mentions that opening up to new markets was possible due to working online. Video communication between the client and the office allowed her to be successful in running numerous projects around the world.
The company has also been opening offices in various locations with which it has connected using modern communication applications. Rostocka mentions that digitization has become a part of our lives and its role is constantly getting bigger. The company works in 3D, showing nonexistent space, and is capable to present the entire project in a realistic way to convince the client of its vision.
In the near future, Dominika J. Rostocka plans to open new offices in the Middle East as they are demanding markets. By the end of this year, she plans to complete a new collection of furniture and interior furnishing. Her ambition is to expand her activity by an art department. “I am well aware of the art market with which I am currently operating. I see it as yet another level in our development. We also plan to expand our activities in the industrial projects,” adds Rostocka.
Dominika J. Rostocka mentions that people who acknowledged her talent and opened new horizons for her have greatly contributed to the development of the company. She adds that her clients also contributed to opening virtually unlimited designing possibilities for her. Rostocka believes that such clients are the best school of life and design.
The main feature I am most proud of in my company is that I am always able to see chances of fulfilling my conceptual assumptions, and in case of obstacles, my aim is to strive real hard to find a solution at all costs. I do not like to give up. I am an optimist who looks at the world not only from an artistic but also from a technological standpoint. So many times in the past I have seen solutions where others said that nothing may be done. In my career, I have never said that it is impossible to achieve something. The fact that I don’t give up and look for solutions, many times has earned me additional recognition.
