In 2020, the team faced a huge challenge with the advent of a pandemic forcing the population into remote working. Overnight, all their scheduled onsite wellness events were cancelled and the business came to a halt. Nicole stayed calm and worked on a solution. In 30 days, she was successful in taking the whole company online. Switching to a virtual model helped the company to expand their offerings, and theirmarket reach. They successfully turned this challenge into an opportunity for growth.
Technology has always been a game-changer for the wellness industry. The inventions are remarkable, from wearables to track steps and biometrics, to brain sensing headbands that train people how to meditate. Nicole envisions that the industry will explore the full potential of AI in the coming years and in doing so deliver more unique experiences.
Nicole also anticipates that the current work from home model is here to stay in some capacity. Even when the pandemic is over, many companies will continue providing their staff with greater flexibility to choose where and when they work. However, human nature longs for personal connections so she predicts the world will end up with a hybrid model with needs for both virtual and in-person events. “Balance by Nature is well equipped for this as we have expanded our network of wellness professionals and are ready to redeploy our onsite model when our clients request it,” she concludes.
