The Mind Behind the Mission

A dual Italian-Swiss citizen and neuroscientist by training, Lavinia Alberi Auber, Ph.D., PD, MBA, brings rare cross-disciplinary authority to integrative diagnostics. Her academic path spans Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, the University of Illinois, Heidelberg University, and the University of Fribourg. With more than 70 peer-reviewed scientific publications, three patents, and leadership roles across biotech and health innovation ecosystems, Lavinia combines scientific rigor with strategic execution. “We are entering the era of biological decision intelligence,” she explains. “My work has always been about transforming complex biology into tools that guide real-world choices — whether on the playfield or in preventive medicine.”

That philosophy underpins VitalizeDx’s mission: universal access to actionable health intelligence.”

What VitalizeDx Actually Does

At its core, VitalizeDx harnesses the diagnostic power of saliva — a biofluid rich in biomarkers reflecting inflammation, metabolic state, hormonal balance, immune resilience, and pathogen exposure. Unlike traditional clinical testing requiring invasive procedures and laboratory delays, VitalizeDx enables rapid, repeatable monitoring through portable devices and proprietary molecular fingerprinting technologies.

The company has filed three patents covering its integrated salivary analytics and predictive modelling framework. But what truly differentiates VitalizeDx is its proprietary algorithmic engine, which combining:

  • Salivary biometrics
  • Psychophysical traits (sleep quality, perceived exertion, stress indices)
  • Biomechanical performance parameters
  • Longitudinal recovery curves

VitalizeDx’s predictive models forecast recovery capacity and field performance trajectories. Rather than simply reporting biomarkers, the platform projects biological readiness and risk dynamics over time.

“We don’t just measure today,” Lavinia explains. “We forecast tomorrow.”

At the center of this system is the concept of a Biodynamic Digital Twin — a continuously updated model of how an individual responds to load, stress, and recovery.

Precision Performance: A Strategic Vertical

While VitalizeDx originated in precision wellness diagnostics, its fastest-growing vertical is Precision Performance, currently serving Basketball and Soccer Serie A teams in Italy.Elite sport demands split-second decisions. Yet biological strain accumulates invisibly. Through PRECISION PERFORMANCE, VitalizeDx integrates cardiometabolic salivary biomarkers with physical performance metrics to detect early overload patterns and cardiovascular stress signatures.

This enables teams to:

  • Anticipate maladaptive recovery
  • Adjust training load proactively
  • Reduce preventable injury risk
  • Monitor cardiometabolic stress longitudinally
  • Optimize performance sustainability

Recognition has followed innovation. In 2025, VitalizeDx:

  • 🏆 Won First Prize in Sportech at RiminiWellness
  • 🌍 Was named a Lighthouse Sportech Company by EPSI
  • 🥇 Became a Finalist at Sportechnation during ISPO 2025
  • Is  among the winners t of the GSIC-Genoa CFC Innovation challenge

These distinctions position VitalizeDx among Europe’s leading sporttech innovators.

From Data Platform to Intelligent Companion

Beyond diagnostics, VitalizeDx is developing a proprietary companion application — more than a health app, it is an intelligent interface between biology and decision-making.

Powered by its predictive algorithms, the app functions as a conversational agent, assisting athletes and coaches in daily choices related to:

  • Training intensity
  • Recovery timing
  • Travel adaptation
  • Stress management
  • Nutritional strategies

The system translates molecular and biomechanical data into practical recommendations — in real time.

Importantly, this architecture is modular.

The same forecasting logic used for athletes can be seamlessly translated into:

  • Cardiometabolic prevention programs
  • Cognitive resilience monitoring
  • Longevity-focused health optimization
  • Corporate performance and executive health

This scalability aligns with VitalizeDx’s broader mission: democratizing predictive health intelligence beyond elite sport.

A Vision Born from Experience

The inspiration behind VitalizeDx isn’t theoretical. Lavinia’s work with Alzheimer’s research, coupled with years spent developing translational neuroscience programs, led her to a powerful realization: early intervention is only possible if people have access to real-time, reliable, and relatable health insights.

This belief seeded her involvement in other ventures too—GlioGuard, focused on innovative brain-cancer treatments, and BrainFit4Life, an initiative to promote cognitive wellness across communities and 5IronmanbeatAlzheimer’s advocating for physical and mental health. These projects, while distinct, share a common thread: empowering people to take hold of their own health.

“Precision wellness isn’t a luxury,” she asserts. “It’s the new baseline. “Precision performance and precision longevity share the same biological foundation,” she notes. “If we can model stress early, we protect potential — whether in athletes or aging populations.”.”

Research-Backed, Public-Facing

Unlike many start-ups that emerge from business incubators or VC circles, VitalizeDx is rooted in decades of peer-reviewed research and publicly funded innovation. The team has secured over €4 Milion Grants in Value from organizations including the MIUR-Eureka, Innosuisse, and the Swiss Excellence Fellowship.

One particularly groundbreaking initiative is their €1 million project on salivary fingerprints to prevent myocardial infarctions in athletes, running through 2026. Another, the ReMeMo develops a companion salivary diagnostics for subjects with cognitive complain disease-modifying therapy, VitalizeDx is translating ideas into tangible clinical tools.

The Market Opportunity

In the $6.5 billion wellness diagnostics market, precision and personalization are no longer optional—they’re expected. Consumers want answers, not just numbers. Health insurers and employers are looking for scalable, preventative solutions. Clinics are seeking tools that can triage better, faster, and earlier.

VitalizeDx sits at the sweet spot of these demands.

By focusing on salivary biometrics, and paving the way for a new era of precision health, the company closely works out with the regulatory bodies and policymaker to define the transition from reactive-care to proximity health-care.

VitalizeDx measures biological cost and recovery trajectory with solutions which are deployable:

  • In elite sports facilities
  • On the playfield
  • Within telehealth ecosystems
  • In corporate performance programs
  • Across preventive longevity clinics

As part of its European expansion strategy, VitalizeDx will be accelerated at the Global Sports Innovation Center (GSIC) in Valencia Microsoft, strengthening commercial scale and partnerships across Europe’s sports ecosystem.

“Every mouth tells a story,” Lavinia says. “Our algorithms translate that story into strategic foresight.”

Co-Creation, Not Competition

A notable hallmark of VitalizeDx’s approach is co-creation. Rather than competing with existing medical systems, they augment them—working with research labs, patient groups, and policy organizations to ensure that their technologies are not only scientifically sound but socially responsible.

Lavinia’s involvement in platforms like the Alzheimer’s Pathobiome Initiative, European Brain Council, CEOs for AD, and Davos Collaborative shows her commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. Her other advocacy initiatives, BrainFit4Life and 5IronmanbeatAlzheimer, bridges the gap between diagnostics and daily choices through events, toolkits, and educational campaigns.

“Diagnostics must empower, not intimidate,” Lavinia emphasizes. “Our job is to build bridges—between data and meaning, between research and community.”

Challenges and the Road Ahead

Scaling regulated innovation across Europe requires validation rigor, manufacturing capacity, and adoption trust.

Yet 2026 marks a decisive inflection point. VitalizeDx is focused on:

  • Scaling Precision Performance across European leagues
  • Expanding beyond Italy/Switzerland
  • Strengthening its IP portfolio
  • Advancing predictive modeling capabilities
  • Expanding into women’s sports and longevity medicine

With three patents, elite team adoption, GSIC acceleration, and European sporttech recognition, VitalizeDx is defining a new category: Predictive Molecular Performance Intelligence.

Advice from the Frontlines

Asked what advice she has for the next generation of health-tech founders, Lavinia doesn’t miss a beat:

“Don’t chase the hype—solve a real problem. Work in loops of incremental improvement build on breakthrough science that can make a difference, test prototypes, talk to clients, to patients, to clinicians or any decision maker, let the data speak and go back to improve your product. Build something that matters not just because it can, but because it must.”

It’s a mindset that has earned her respect not only in labs and lecture halls but also among investors, peers, and policymakers. In a world where “innovation” is often reduced to buzzwords, VitalizeDx offers substance. Their science is elegant, their product is useful, and their mission is urgent.

A Saliva-Based Revolution

As sport, healthcare, and artificial intelligence converge, VitalizeDx stands at the frontier.

It is no longer just about measuring biomarkers.
It is about forecasting resilience.
It is about guiding daily decisions.
It is about universal access to actionable health intelligence.

Precision is not only about performance. It is about protecting potential — at every stage of life. And in that vision, VitalizeDx is shaping what comes next.
