Asociace jihočeských rodin z.s.: Making the Lives of Bohemian Families Better

Many of the past inventions and concepts—even the recent past ones—are now being made irrelevant by the technologies and concepts of this internet era. …and the reason? The things around us are advancing so swiftly. Any invention that’s considered a breakthrough could be replaced by an even better one tomorrow. That is how quickly things are evolving.

Counting solely on conventional education and wishing to become financially robust is too costly a mistake to make in this generation. To adapt oneself to the fast-moving world it is necessary that she learns the right skill sets and tools needed. But as with anything, the race to learn new skills and excel in those is already on the rise. And it doesn’t seem to slow down anytime soon.

For the alpha generation, the race will be an order of magnitude more challenging compared to the current generation employees because of the rising population. To equip them better for the future opportunities, it is imperative that we teach them the required skills from a young age. The sooner they start learning, the better their job and growth opportunities are in the future.

Which is what exactly this association does.

Founded in 2015, the Association of South Bohemian Families is a non-profit that supports the south bohemian community’s families by offering various services. Also, the Pisek-based association provides community development services and various events and awareness programs. On top of that, it supports divorced parents, single parents, foster parents, parents with children under 15 years of age and helps them lead a better life.

Notably, to help working parents’ lives easier, the association’s chairman established a kindergarten.  “When I was working for a financial service company, one of my colleagues there quit the company without telling anyone. Later, when I spoke to her, I found out that she had little children to babysit and there was nobody at home to take care of them,” says Jaroslava Kralova, chairman of the Association of South Bohemian Families.  “After giving it some thought, I thought why should not I start one and so I established the first kindergarten for my colleagues’ children.”

What initially was started as one school soon grew into five schools in five different cities in south bohemia. These kindergarten schools collectively have a population of over 110 children. These are kindergartens for small children between the ages 1 to 3 and for those between the ages 3 to 6. “These kindergartens are especially very helpful for the single fathers and mothers that go to work early or return late,” she explains.

For children aged 3 to 6, the association offers special technical education. This is something of a technical university or small university that equips children with the right technical education to excel in the future employees or owners. The association provides this technical education through its continuous partnership with The Rohde & Schwarz Technology Academy— a subsidiary of Rohde & Schwarz that offers vocational training courses to high school students and recruits them—to offer technical education to the senior kindergarteners in Vimperk. “We prepare the children for the 21st century, teaching them how to better equip and behave in the modern age,” says Jaroslava.

Down the road, the association plans to increase the headcount of its kindergarten school from 110 to 140 and help more parents of the south bohemian families lead a more peaceful and balanced life. “Our world is becoming more and more technical with every passing day and out children are the world’s future. We want to inspire other schools in our country and worldwide that the best investment we can ever make is on our children and that what we invest will come back sooner than we believe,” concludes Jaroslava.
