Entrepreneurship is a wide unchartered territory where only a few search their path to success. What happens to the visions who lost their way? Thousands of ideas and business ventures are budding daily. Every business venture indeed has potential but few areas go overlooked in the sprint to success.
As Thomas Edison quotes, “Visions without execution is hallucination.”
No matter how exceptional your idea is, if it fails at execution there is no way it could make it to the top. In 2004, LURN was established with a mission to educate people to be entrepreneurs—no matter where they are in the journey. The goal was to empower passion-based businesses and encourage big ideas that will change the world.
Anik Singal, the founder, and CEO of LURN is an entrepreneur at heart. He realized that gradually entrepreneurs are losing their way to success due to minor err and errors. Many of these aspiring entrepreneurs outlined their business on a spreadsheet but there was no action—often due to lack of knowledge, resources, or community.
“I wanted to create an army of entrepreneurs, who could leverage technology to learn the content they need and to support each other to make their big dreams a reality, even when things get tough,” said Anik.
Anik drew inspiration from his own entrepreneurial journey. His life has been a big series of obstacles and unannounced challenges. From a young age, he was exposed to the ground reality. Being raised in India—a place where fate cannot help you with a living—he knew that education and hard work are the only way to success. His parents encountered several challenges but managed to immigrate to the United States with just $16 but soon went on to build a successful career.
Being highly inspired by his parents, Anik ventured into entrepreneurship at a very young age. He knew that education has what made his parents thrive in an unknown country. Anik was certain that combining education with technology will provide life-changing learning opportunities for people all around the world.
In his 20s he was already running a successful start-up. But he wanted to explore his potential and build a home for entrepreneurs. Being a leader, he knew that entrepreneurship is a lonely quest. In any other profession, you work with fellow professionals like as a doctor, you work with doctors. However, as an entrepreneur, you’re working alone to turn your dreams into reality—at least initially. Anik was determined to change this narrative, so he pivoted his business. From a successful start-up in his early 20s to falling in $1.7 million debt to build LURN and again turning it around with a multi-million dollar education company. Anik has been on a roller coaster journey. Dealing with his share of challenges, he wanted to help others reach their goal—without feeling alone.
At LURN everyone comes from different backgrounds and experiences. The team of experts at LURN understands this and offers both free and premium courses. As a member of the LURN program, one can start with free courses that are generally 10-15 modules
and contain over 1-2 hours of hard-hitting, easy-to-learn content. As a user, if you find the course useful you can then opt for the premium course which gives access to courses in Peak Performance, Facebook Marketing, Copywriting, Business Models, SEO, Influencer marketing, Business Coaching, and much more. Furthermore, members have access to new training every month on digital publishers, online marketers, and entrepreneurs, keeping them abreast of the latest trends.
“You also get access to LURN’s highly trained team of coaches which includes some of the most successful digital publishers, marketers, and entrepreneurs from around the world,” confirmed Anik.
Anik believes that the world is riddled with uncertainties and only beforehand readiness can help us survive in the modern economy. This philosophy turned true amid the crisis of COVID-19. Most of the world was unprepared for the sudden impact on businesses. Digitalization happened overnight with many people having zero to no knowledge of advanced tech.
The crisis also highlighted a silver lining that in today’s world anyone with a computer and internet connection has the power to start his venture independently. Building an online business does not require a university degree or heavy investments, rather technical know-how, and perseverance can take anyone a long way. Besides, there are several tools and services which can help the idea on paper turn into a successful business. LURN helps the entrepreneur by teaching them service-based and relevant knowledge to thrive in the business world.
2020 has proven that self-reliance combined with an entrepreneurial spirit is the only way to survive in the modern economy. LURN had been a tremendous growth track, both in the pre-COVID world and presently amid the challenges. Anik knew that not all are as fortunate as the team of LURN and many are struggling both personally and economically. The team focused on helping people provide for themselves by offering them a platform to start a business and create a side income. LURN was also successful in raising over $50,000 in a COVID-19 relief fund that provided entrepreneurs and small business owners with emergency grants ranging from $50 to $500 to help with necessities such as groceries, medicine, transportation, etc.
LURN is looking forward to continual success in 2021. After a tremendous year, the team has already mapped out the half of next year. Akin concludes, “We want to build out more features for our platform, along with supportive communities that get people more engaged with each other. This is the big push for LURN in 2021.”
