Apple always surprises the world with the innovation that they bring with its products and updates. Last year, we saw Apple launching Apple’s AirTags for tracking anything that it is attracted to it. Since its launch, there are several stories about how it is misused by the users for tracking. According to a new wall street Journal report, Apple’s AirTags has been sending out “phantom’ alerts that are confusing iPhone users. The purpose of the AirTags is simple, it is used for tracking things that are important to them and is highly discouraged from tracking people and things without consent.

According to reports, users get false alerts in the middle of the night. The AirTag alerts show you the place and time of the alert on the map. However, there were straight lines showing from the person’s location. As of now, it is unclear on how to prevent from this particular false alert. While testing the AirTag’s safety features, a user noticed that his own tag was stalking him. Similar reports have been experienced by users which were posted on different social media websites.

Releasing Firmware update soon

In the Wall Street Journal report, the user stated that they were not able to find any AirTag on their person. Another user reported that they were unable to force the supposed unknown AirTag to play a sound and that the FindMY app was saying the AirTag was unreachable.

After several reports of unwanted stalking earlier in 2022, Apple said, it intended to make unknown AirTags alert people sooner and to emphasize lounder tones on sound alert. Currently, the company is releasing an AirTags update for the latter in a firmware update 1.0.301.
