Health Connect: Google and Samsung Partnered to Offer a New Health App

In recent times, we have seen a high inclination towards health and health-related activities such as health apps, steps tracking devices, and many more. Also, in the last few months, there were plenty of health tracking apps that provided users with to track their fitness and health at various levels. But the major issue users face today is seamless connectivity. There are times when apps and fitness tracking devices don’t seamlessly connect which results in data loss.

Health Connect is a platform and API that provides developers a toolset to sync users’ data between android apps and devices seamlessly. Health Connect is created in partnership with Google and Samsung which makes it better than the existing apps. The app will allow users to keep track of their health and fitness data without any hassle. Furthermore, the app supports over 50 data types such as activity, body measurement, cycle tracking, nutrition, sleep, and vitals.

With users’ permission, this will enable app developers to take advantage of accurate and optimized data measured on Galaxy Watch for Samsung Health and use it in their apps as well.”

All Android developers can access to the open beta version of Health Connect. In an early access program, Google is working with developers of MyFitnessPal, Leap Fitness, and Wtihings. Later this year, we are expecting the release of the Pixel Watch means the tech of the Health Connect will be available by that time. Also, the app is set to adopt with Google Fit and Google-owned Fitbit.
