However, this was not the only project that got dropped. Netflix has dropped several projects and it was part of strategic decisions on the production of animated series. The company confirmed this statement without providing any further details on the decision.

Megan Markle and Prince Harry’s Archewell Productions

Megan Markle and Prince Harry have co-founded the Archewell Productions. The couple is formally known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Megan was the executive producer for ‘Pearl’ and the series was centered on the adventures of a 12-year-old girl who is inspired by influential women from history.

After the reports of a show cancellation, there were no official comments from Archewell.

Netflix canceled several animated projects

Among the canceled projects, Netflix has also put a hold on the production of two animated children’s series ‘Dino Daycare’ and ‘Boons and Curses’. The decision has been confirmed by Netflix after it lost 200,000 subscribers in Q1 which fell short of its forecast of adding 2.5 million.

In 2021, Netflix initiated a deal for animation films with Comcast subsidiary Universal Pictures a move which was expected to help Netflix acquire child viewers. Netflix will, however, continue to work on other Archewell Productions that include the previously announced documentary series ‘Heart of Invictus’. The story follows injured veterans in ‘The Hague’ in 2022 where the athletes compete in the Invictus Games.
