Currently, the grim situation between Russia and Ukraine has impacted millions and millions of lives. We can see how it has changed the lives of people living in these countries and also elsewhere. It’s almost a week now, with the ongoing war, several countries and companies have started to take major steps against Russia indicating their stands.
These companies have either halted or entirely shut down their operation in Russia.
Google is one of the major tech giants that operate almost all over the world. On 3 March 2022, Google suspended all its advertising services in Russia.
Here are tech companies that have interrupted their operations in Russia;
Official Statement: “In light of the extraordinary circumstances, we’re pausing Google ads in Russia. The situation is evolving quickly, and we will continue to share updates when appropriate.”
Official Statement: “It is “deeply concerned” about the Russian invasion and that in response, it has “paused all product sales” in the country.”

Microsoft:
Official Statement: “Our single most impactful area of work almost certainly is the protection of Ukraine’s cybersecurity. We continue to work proactively to help cybersecurity officials in Ukraine defend against Russian attacks, including most recently a cyberattack against a major Ukrainian broadcaster,”

Samsung:
Official Statement: “Due to the current geopolitical developments, shipments to Russia have been suspended,” reads a statement from an unnamed Samsung representative, via Samsung’s generic PR email address. “We continue to actively monitor this complex situation to determine our next steps.”

Spotify:
Official Statement: “In response to the crisis, we have taken several steps. We have closed our office in Russia indefinitely and we are providing individual support to our people in the region as well as our global community of Ukrainian employees.”
