Spotify has announced a new podcast fiction series that will center on the life of Batman’s alter-ego Bruce Wayne. The podcast series will debut in May and its local adaptations will be available across 9 countries including Brazil, Japan, and India.
The fictional podcast series follows the movie ‘The Batman’ which was released earlier in March. The movie has been a blockbuster with nearly $712 million worth of tickets sold across the world.
Spotify released DC’s first podcast
The multi-year deal between Spotify Technology and AT&T Inc. Warner Bros has developed the first podcast ‘Batman Unburied’. This will bring DC Comics superheroes to narrative podcasts.
Spotify is among the world’s largest music streaming services that have been leading the podcasts business and offers more than 3.2 million podcast titles.
‘Batman Unburied’ what is it about?
Batman Unburied has been described as a psychological thriller with an original story. The story will start with Bruce Wayne working as a forensic pathologist to examine the victims of the serial killer.
The English-language version will be premiered worldwide on May 3rd, along with the localized versions in Indonesia, India, Germany, France, Brazil, Japan, Italy, and Mexico. The local adaptions will offer the local language and feature directors and voice actors from the area. Also, the scripts will be tailored to reflect the local culture.
The English-language series will be voiced by Winston Duke, who has played M’Baku in Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’.
