Dynatrace Expands Cloud Security to Enhance Vulnerability Analysis

Dynatrace

Pointers at Glance

  • A software intelligence company, Dynatrace extends cloud security to enhance vulnerability analysis in runtime environments.
  • With these enhancements, the platform becomes the only solution that provides real-time visibility and vulnerability analysis.

Dynatrace, a software intelligence company, has expanded its Application Security Module to identify and protect against vulnerabilities in runtime environments, including the Node.js runtime, Java Virtual Machine (JVM), and .NET CLR.

Dynatrace has expanded its support to applications running in Go, one of the fastest-growing programming languages, with adoption increasing by 23 percent in 2021.

Benefits

With these enhancements, the Dynatrace® platform becomes the only solution providing real-time visibility and vulnerability analytics across the entire application stack, which includes custom code, language runtimes, open-source and third-party libraries, container runtimes, and container orchestrators.

Dynatrace not only detects vulnerabilities across each of these layers automatically but also analyses them to provide precise and actionable answers out of the box. It empowers development and security teams to assess risk better, prioritize and remediate threats effectively, and innovate faster and with increased security.

Dynatrace Application Security helps to make this possible by giving comprehensive visibility and analytics across all layers of the complex application ecosystem, ensuring no vulnerability escapes the secure DevOps lifecycle.

Additionally, it helps people instantly understand the risk and potential impact of zero-day vulnerabilities, such as Log4 Shell, and automatically prioritizes the steps required to resolve them.

Dynatrace delivers the industry’s most comprehensive application vulnerability analysis, spanning all potential entry points in pre-production and production environments, by expanding its Application Security Module to support runtimes in the most widely adopted programming languages.

Steve Tack, SVP of product management at Dynatrace, said that attackers use the number of entry points to target applications and continue to expand. Vulnerabilities can slide into applications from any part of the software supply chain, including open-source or third-party components and application runtimes.

Dynatrace is the only solution that ensures runtime vulnerability analysis across the entire application stack and AI-assisted prioritization for the most popular cloud-native application technologies, including Golang.
