The famous burger franchise ‘Wayback Burgers’ will be expanding into the Asian market, by opening a new outlet in Omotesando, Japan. Wayback Burgers is one of the fastest-growing burger chains in the U.S. It is planning to open over 60 restaurants in the next 20 years and is scrutinizing development options in Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea, China, India, Singapore, Taiwan, and the Philippines.
Wayback introduced in the Japanese market
With the agreement between WB Burgers Asia, and the publicly traded holding company of WB Burgers Japan Co., Lt. Alongside an agreement with the Next Meats Co. (NXMH)— a venture creating tasty and appealing alternatives to meat products. The Burger franchise in the Omotesando location will include tantalizing and innovative meat-free dishes that vegetarian and vegan customers can enjoy.
An official statement released by the head of WBBA and NXMH, Koichi Ishizuka, reads, “We are very excited to introduce Wayback Burgers to Japanese customers. Our first location in Omotesando will be the flagship restaurant, not only in Japan but in Asia, where we plan to continue expansion. True to its name, Wayback Burgers means going back in time to when hamburgers were made by hand. Our hamburgers are made with 100% fresh ground beef, which is then pressed and grilled to order. We’re also proud to be able to offer a range of delicious meatless items through our agreement with Next Meats.”
What is on the menu?
Wayback burgers have both meat and vegan options on the menu. Alongside there are rich milkshakes and beverages as an add-on. Wayback Burgers will be located amongst the exclusive neighborhood of Omotesando, featuring the spacious outdoor seating area and offering a premium experience for diners.
Wayback Burgers currently has its presence in 34 states across the U.S. and has 166 locations nationally and internationally.
Due to the international franchise agreements, Wayback Burgers is planning to open in the 38 provinces/countries. The burger chain also is among the fastest-growing franchise in the U.S. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Wayback burgers have reported sales up by 26% year-on-year in 2021.
