After the U.S. now Netflix will raise the subscription fees in U.K. and Ireland

Netflix Inc. plans to invest more in the production of new shows and films and thus has announced it will be surging the prices for subscribers in the U.K. and Ireland.

The prices for the popular standard plan will rise by 2 pounds making it 10.99 pounds ($14.48) every month. The standard plan is very popular among the UK audience that allows the subscribers to stream on two devices at the same time.

For the basic plan, the subscribers will now have to pay 6.99 pounds and the premium plan will cost 15.99 pounds ($21.07) a month.

Netflix updates Prices

Netflix subscribers from Ireland will have to pay the standard and premium tiers 14.99 euros ($16.58) and 20.99 euros ($23.21), respectively. Also, the basic plan will rise by 1 euro.

The official comment from the spokesperson from Netflix read, “Our updated prices reflect the investment we have made in our service and catalog and will allow us to continue making the series, documentaries and films our members love as well as investing in talent and the creative industry.”

Netflix had previously increased subscriber fees for the UK in December 2020 and for Ireland in March 2021. It has been confirmed that the prices will be effective from March 10 for all new members and the existing members will be notified 30 days before for the respective billing cycles.
