Amazon is now exploring the fashion business by launching the first-ever futuristic apparel store. The store will be tech-proof—as most of the stores are—but this tech twist for the apparel store is anticipated to bring the futuristic shopping experience to reality.

The Managing Director of Amazon, Simoina Vasen, also confirmed that the retail giant would not step into physical retail unless the company was equipped to improvise the customer experience.

Amazon Style Shopping

Amazon Style will be located near Los Angeles. The size of the store will be smaller than a department store i.e. 30,000 square feet.

In this physical store, the model items will be placed on the rack from where the customers will scan the code and use Amazon’s app to select the desired size & color they would like to try.  After choosing the desired clothing, the customers enter a virtual queue for the trial room which will be unlocked when ready.

The dressing room is also customized to help the customer continue their shopping without the hassle to leave. Customers are one click away from requesting other items, which the staff delivers within minutes when requested.

Amazon reveals the magic closet

Amazon can record the customer scans and then use the algorithms to personalize their clothing suggestions. Also, the customers can fill out a style survey so by the time they reach the store, the staff would have already deposited the requested items in the fitting room.

Vasen adds, “It’s like a magic closet with the seemingly endless selection.

Amazon has already surpassed Walmart and is the most-shopped clothing retailer in the U.S. The retail giant will be now be rivaling big brands like Macy Inc. & Nordstorm Inc. which has opened several smaller format stores now.
